Because Mark Hamrock has taught every style to all levels of players for over 20 years, he knows how to cater the lessons to suit your needs. Mark studied with some of the most prominent guitarists today, including Rusty Anderson (guitarist for Paul McCartney, Elton John, Willy Nelson, Santana). He also studied jazz with Alan Rowe (Stan Kenton Orchestra) and classical guitar with masters David Tannenbaum and Scott Tennant. Mark toured and performed with guitar legends including Larry Carlton, Tim Reynolds (Dave Matthews Band), and Dave Mason of Traffic.

Hamrock Music is located conveniently off the 405 & 5 freeway interchange 10 minutes south of Costa Mesa.

Lessons are also offered online (Skype and Zoom). Many students have been preferring this method as they can easily record the lessons and a running chat dialogue is kept with materials and assignments.

Music Events and Venues in Costa Mesa

Costa Mesa is a Mecca of culture and arts in Orange County. The Segerstrom Center for the Arts presents everything from opera and orchestral concerts to jazz and blues performances from guitar legends such as B.B. King and Pat Metheny, as well as classical guitarists John Williams and Pepe Romero.
Costa Mesa has a great live music scene and is home to several long standing staples of the Orange County music scene including The Tiki Bar and The Wayfarer (formerly The Detroit Bar and Club Mesa). Other bars and clubs that host live music include The Harp Inn, La Cave, and Boathouse Collective.
Notable musicians that have called Costa Mesa home include Bad Religion bassist Jay Bentley, Social Distortion singer and guitarist Mike Ness, and rock bands Of Mice and Men and The Growlers.
